The small rosettes of this nice carnivorous plant are close to the ground, but the flower stems can stand up to 10 – 20cm; on the stems are sticky glands with which the plant catches small insects. The name ‘trigger plant’ comes from its pollinator system because of a sensitive ‘trigger’ consisting of the male and female reproductive organs fused together to form a flower column that shoots forward when touched, thus covering the insect with pollen.
