Forrest peat moss is a rare species that grows on moist, humous subsoil in forests or forest edges, in heath and/or blueberry vegetation in both shaded and open areas, it varies in color from light green/green, yellow-green/yellow, orange/reddish /pinkish, or speckled, rather robust plants.
